Sure, you may have Dreamweaver, Frontpage or XSitePro to do all of your HTML programming for you, but you still need to study this section, because we’re going to be starting AFTER those programs are finished. (And before sales start coming in.)
When I refer to ‘HTML Tricks,’ I’m really talking about all of the add-ins like PHP, CGI, Javascript, and other programming languages and programs that plug into HTML. Basically, anything that takes your HTML page and “Tricks it out” to be a more effective sales tool.
For instance, you know those 1-page sales websites with all those boxes and bullet points on them? They’re REALLY easy to make if you know how, but the software suites above aren’t set up to do those easily. They might have a simple Pop-up script or snippet that comes with them as well, but those will of course be the simple circa-1996 HTML pop-ups that any old popup-blocker will easily suppress.
Everything in this section, especially the products and knowledge in those videos listed above, is much more powerful than that, and every marketer with a website needs to know them. Even if for no other reason than to know the limits of what can and can’t be done. The bottom line is that the online marketing world has evolved down its’ own specific niche path, and the tools you need to create our most effective websites aren’t the standard tools out there in the HTML world anymore. This section is here to fill in the difference between the mainstream knowledge of HTML, and the marketing-specific knowledge you’ll need to become a great Internet Marketer, no matter which niche market you’re selling to.
“But I’ve got a programmer to do all that stuff for me.”
Great, you’re not going to have to spend TOO much time here, but you have to agree that you’ll need to know what can and can’t be done on your site. If you don’t know where your technological limits are, how can you plan your best marketing strategy?
“Okay. Where do I start?”
I guess the most optimal course of action is to watch the films above while skimming the documents, and then read about each of the products from it’s product page. You don’t have to download them until you need them.
This way you’ll know exactly what you can do from the resources on this website. Later on, (hopefully no too much later) when you’re building any kind of sales page or opt-in form, you’ll know exactly where to come to get the tools & specific knowledge you need to make that programming job into a reality.
“What, no products to reccommend to us this time?”
Nope, all of the resources you’ll EVER need for this section are free. I’ve certainly never had to pay for any of this stuff. Between MRR Products like those above and the standard HTML editing software like XSitePro, (which I made 80% of my AdSense sites with, by the way) this section is the least expensive to master, although possibly one of the most time-consuming to learn.
Enjoy!
